Today was an exercise of tactical withdrawal, some days the weather is not just going to be on your side and all you can do is get out of its way. Heading South – Day 3 – Bombala to Narooma (but via some outstanding roads)
Gary declared this as his ‘best day of riding ever’, wow, big call! I’m not quite so definitive (my Mum always describes the ‘holiday of a lifetime’ as a bit sad because then nothing will be ever be better) but I will say it was a brilliant day and we discovered some wonderful new roads. Overnight – Jenolan Caves – Hill End – Bathurst – Tarana – Sydney
We met up with our riding group at a service station on the M4 on the outskirts of Sydney. Simon, the ride organiser, laid out the day for us – the plan being to head towards Jenolan Caves then on to Hill End ‘by lunchtime’. After lunch, there was the option to hang around Hill End or enjoy some of the local roads and loop back to Hill End late afternoon. And so all 17 of us set off. Continue reading
