The wonderful thing about Sydney, Australia is that you can ride all year around. The only downside of this is that you might have to contend with some extreme weather.
In this case, I am talking about heat. The description ‘very hot and sunny’ and a forecast of 43 degrees Celsius by the weather forecaster is a subtle way of saying ‘sensible people should remain inside with the air conditioning on’. Turns out we’re not sensible people But we are creative and adaptable.
I’m going to try a new thing, rather than write extensively about the journey to places, I’m going to focus on some of the fab places I like to visit. This idea came to me from my last post, where I realised that there are so many amazing and unknown places within riding distance of Sydney that people don’t know about, well some do, just not a lot.

Confusion over arrangements for the day turned out to be a blessing in disguise! And then there was the alpaca hugging.

Today we introduced an old friend to a new experience, the motorbike joy that is the New South Wales Royal National Park. Continue reading
Today was an exercise of tactical withdrawal, some days the weather is not just going to be on your side and all you can do is get out of its way. With rains forecast to move east over the range and down to the coast, we were forced away from the more interesting roads but the main road home still proved to be a lot of fun. Continue reading
Today didn’t quite go to plan, a problem with my motorbike meant a little bit of hanging around while a country mechanic came up with a creative solution. Continue reading
